Project description

Construction of the Scone Bypass on the New England Highway.

Benefits

Improvement of freight productivity and safety on the New England Highway and resolution of the disconnection of the town during rail movements which cause closure of the rail level crossings.

Funding

The Australian Government has committed $65 million towards this project.

Timetable

Construction commenced in July 2018. The project opened to traffic on the 14 March 2020.
