Project description

The project upgraded the Kin Kora roundabout at the intersection of the Dawson Highway and Philip Street in Gladstone into a fully signalised intersection.

Benefits

The project improves safety and traffic flow, including for heavy vehicles.

Funding

The Australian Government committed to provide 50 per cent up to  $12.5 million to upgrade the Kin Kora roundabout, based on an estimated project cost of $25 million, in partnership with the Queensland Government.

As the project was delivered under budget for $16.58 million, the final Australian Government contribution was $8.29 million.

Timetable

Construction commenced in May 2015 and was completed June 2016.  Minor finalisation works include fencing and electrical works  as well as footpath regrading was undertaken in early 2017 and was completed in March 2017.
