Project description

Creeks cross the gravel road in several locations in this section of the road, causing silt to be dropped on the road and water to cover the road for extended periods of time after rain. The silt makes the road impassable for two wheel drive vehicles and those four wheel drive vehicles that drive through push the gravel down into the subgrade making the section a bog hole.

It is proposed to construct a total of 110 metres of concrete floodways in this section where the creeks cross the road. The presence of these concrete floodways will ensure that these sections of the road are passable to all vehicles after periods of rain.
