Project description
The Tinana Interchange project involved:
- realignment of the northbound off ramp (exiting to the left of Bruce Highway) and new overpass onto Gympie Road,
- realignment of the southbound off ramp from Bruce Highway onto Gympie Road,
- realignment of the southbound on ramp from Gympie Road to Bruce Highway and the combination of the currently separated
- northbound and southbound lanes on the Bruce Highway on the current southbound lane alignment.
The project also involved the demolition of the existing bridge and the movement of the intersection at Three Mile Road, further south.
Benefits
The project will increase safety and efficiency for all road users.
Funding
The Australian Government committed up to $30.4 million towards the project, in partnership with the Queensland Government.
Timetable
Construction commenced in July 2016 and was completed September 2017.
