Project description

The project improved curve alignments, installed wire rope barriers, widened shoulders, removed roadside hazards and constructed new turning facilities on the Midland Highway south of Tunbridge.

Benefits

The project achieved a 3 Star AusRAP Safety Rating on this section of the Midland Highway. The project improved safety, capacity and overtaking opportunities.

Funding

The cost of the project was $5,553,240. The Australian Government contributed $4,442,592 and the Tasmanian Government $1,110,648.

Timetable

Construction commenced in December 2014 and was completed in April 2015.
