Project description

The project extended the existing left hand deceleration turn lane and provided new traffic islands on the Midland Highway at Mud Walls Road.

Benefits

The project achieved a 3 Star AusRAP Safety Rating on this section of the Midland Highway. The project improved saftey, capacity and overtaking opportunities.

Funding

The cost of the project was $658,608. The Australian Government contributed $526,886 and the Tasmanian Government $131,722.

Timetable

Construction commenced on 2 March 2015 and was completed on 15 April 2015.
