Project description

Road pavementbase course has degraded, causing the surface course to crack severely. Road pavement has exceeded its service live and is in need of renewal. Proposed works will add strength to the base course which will eliminate ruts in the road pavement.

Road pavement rehabilitation for a length of 485m and a width of 9.0m. Works include cement stabilisation of the base course, application of a new surface course and associated linemarking.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
