Project description

Kennedy Street was designed and constructed in 1986. The road requires reconstruction to improve pedestrian and traffic safety, traffic movement, alignment, base and surface rehabilitation. The reconstruction will allow for increases in road usage providing safer, simpler and more effective road layout.

Road works on Kennedy Street SLK start point 0.650 to end point SLK 0.700 includes demolition, replacement of the base and surface, kerbing and signage. Excavation.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
