The Toowoomba Second Range Crossing project involves the construction of a bypass route to the north of Toowoomba, approximately 41 kilometres in length, running from the Warrego Highway at Helidon in the east, to the Gore Highway at Athol in the west.

Benefits

The Bypass provides an alternative route to manage increasing traffic volumes, particularly heavy vehicle movements from the developing resources region in the Surat Basin.

Funding

The Australian Government has committed up to $1.1 billion to the project, the Australian Government's largest commitment to a single regional road project in Queensland's history.

Timetable

The Toowoomba Second Range Crossing was officially opened on 8 September 2019.
