One of 20 projects delivered as part of the Australian Government's $508 million commitment to the Warrego Highway Upgrade Program.
This project involved the construction of eight overtaking lanes, both east and westbound, at four locations between Oakey and Dalby.
The project delivered more efficient overtaking movements and an increase in transport efficiency at this location on the Warrego Highway.
The Australian Government committed to provide 80 per cent up to $35.2 million towards the estimated $44 million cost of the project, in partnership with the Queensland Government.
As savings have been realised on the project the Australian Government contribution has been reduced to $29.44 million of a $36.8 million total project cost.
Construction commenced in late 2016 and was completed in September 2017.
