Project description

Yandeyarra Road is the sole access road for the Yandeyarra Community. The road is crossed by the Yule River and several small creeks. Access is often restricted after rain fall events due to inadequate creek crossings.

Major crossing improvements will be constructed near the Yule river crossing. Minor floodway improvements will also be made. This will include the construction of concrete crossings and stabilisation of the surrounding area.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
