Project description

Narrow failed pavement, poor drainage.

Install 30m x 375 dia. RCP at the intersection of Segenhoe and Perth Streets and construct two kerb inlet pits. Renew 20 metres of 450x300 box culvert at Segenhoe and St Heliers Street intersection. Construct 700 metres of new kerb and gutter to design levels (along the eastern side of Segenhoe St from Perth to St Heliers Street).Rehabilitate 5000m2 pavements (construct new pavement from kerb to existing pavement and provide 150mm gravel overlay to existing pavement).Provide two coat 14/7mm bitumen seal. Length of road to be upgraded 0.420km x 11 metres wide, total seal area 5000m2.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
