Project description

The condition of the Samuel Road / Seppeltsfield Road / Stelzer Road intersection does not allow for B-Double design vehicles to negotiate turning movements within the correct traffic lanes. They are rquired to travel off the road carriageway and/or cross the road centreline.

The proposed work includes upgrade of the Samuel Road / Seppeltsfield Road / Stelzer Road intersection including land acquisition and the construction of a 4-leg large roundabout. The roundabout includes single lane horizontal approach and entry curvature, approach medians with splitter islands, centre median and island with raised trafficable annulus, and holding lines, traffic control signage and category V5 intersection road lighting. The project works will geometrically accomodate for B-Double design vehicles, as required for a gazetted freight route of this nature.

Total cost of proposed project is $1,700,000
