Project description

Millar Street is an older street within the town site of Waroona. It is showing signs of severe pavement failure - rutting, cracking and subsidence - due to the reactive clays typical to this area.

Removal of the existing pavement layer and the treating of the clay base material with stabilisation techniques to improve the performance of the natural material. Importation of new pavement material and asphalt sealing to modern standards.

Total cost of proposed project is $172,719

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
