Project description

The Morowa - Yalgoo Road is a rural Regional Distributor Road. The existing 4m wide spray seal is nearing the end of its life and requires resealing in order to preserve the underlying road pavement.

Morowa - Yalgoo Road will be resealed with a new 14mm stone, spray seal for 5.5km from Straight Line Kilometre 58.00 (3.45km South West of the intersection with Bunnawarra Road) to Straight Line Kilometre 63.5 (2.05km North East of the intersection with Bunnawarra Road)

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
