Project description

The existing bridge has an ageing steel beam and timber deck structure and forms a vital access link for the community. It is necessary to replace elements of the existing structure which will be completed in two stages. This is Stage 2 of a project started in Roads to Recovery 2009-2014 (Project 9). Stage 1 involved preparatory on-site works to cater for the future bridge construction.

Stage 2 involves replacement of the existing bridge structure with a new concrete construction, width varies between 10-12 metre with a 20 metre span, that will meet current day traffic loadings. A pedestrian walkway is also to be provided on the bridge structure.
