Project description

Narrow gravel formation width of 6m. Significant pavement failures. Route is Significant heavy vehicle route between Tottenham and Trangie, Road turns to "bulls dust" every year during harvest.

Widen formation to 8m, Rip, reshape existing road and overlay with gravel pavement 0.15 m thick. Provide bitumen seal 6.5m wide. We only propose to do a single coat (primer) seal in this instance and to do the second seal coat approx 12 months later as a separate project.Work

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
