Project description

The project upgraded approximately 10.7km of the Midland Highway between St Peters Pass and south of Tunbridge.

Benefits

It is intended that the project will achieve a minimum 3 star AusRAP safety rating on this section of the highway, in accordance with the Midland Highway 10 year Action Plan, and result in a reduction in crashes.

Funding

The Australian Government has committed up to $33.5 million to this project with the Tasmanian Government to contribute the remaining funding.

Timetable

Construction commenced in February 2018 and was completed in September 2020.
