Project description

This is a centrally located intersection close to the CBD and local primary schools. The current pavement is rough and distorted requiring constant maintenance. The intersection is large with poor control of both traffic and pedestrian traffic resulting in inadequate separation of vehicular and pedestrian traffic particularly at school start and end times.

Proposed work will achieve Control of traffic with Kerbs extensions and medians, to clarify traffic lanes and turning paths. Relocation of pedestrian’s away from the centre of the intersection with relocated pedestrian crossings and raised borders to ensure compliance. Improvements to the pavement with a min 35mm Asphalt Correctional Layer. Reinstatement and upgrading of pavement markings and signage.

Total cost of proposed project is $367,743
