Project description

The road is a school bus route, and part of the B-Double network. It is the only B-Double route within the north west of Council. The road is the usual bypass in case of an accident on the Monaro Highway between the villages of Bredbo and Michelago. The existing pavement regularly fails in wet weather. The current formation width is inadequate in many locations raising safety issues when traffic passes or attempts to overtake, particularly when this involves heavy vehicles.

The project covers clearance of heavy vegetation, upgrading drainage culverts, reconstruction and reshaping the formation where identified, the addition of road pavement material, plus the application of a 10mm AMC Prime Seal.

Total cost of proposed project is $4,811,784
