Project description

Slacks Creek Road has been constructed in a low lying valley. From previous construction on this road it had been determined that the road had been constructed on a sub-grade that is unsuitable in handling the traffic loading of modern day vehicles. Also because of the low level of the road compared to the surrounding areas water is soaking the sub base and causing it to fail in the following ways The road Pavement has a number of large failures occurring along a 2km section. The seal has deteriorated to the point that sub base has been exposed creating further failures. Debris has been pushed up against the bridge this will also be removed.

Investigate and Repair failures, Rebuild and stabilise shoulders, improved drainage, slight road realignment to improve safety, improve vertical alignment Replace and extend culverts, 100mm overlay, 10mm primer seal. Debris removal.
