Project description

Talbot Road is a Rural Collector road where the existing stone lined bridge with a concrete U slab deck, which is 4.6 metres long by 5.6 metres wide (5.3m between kerbs), has deficient width to accommodate two vehicles passing on a two lane sealed road around a bend. The existing insitu abutments and lining have also deteriorated to a point requiring strengthening to meet current bridge load standards.

The existing insitu bridge components are to be removed and replaced with new major culverts to a width of 9.5 metres to accommodate the bend in the road and accommodate M1600 bridge loading . The new major culvert will include approach guard rails to standard.
