Project description

Work on the entire length of Moorilup Road under 2015-2016 RTR project is ongoing, however this project will address this particular section that is in need of upgrading due to significant deterioration of the surface being a heavy vehicles route and school bus route.

This section of Moorilup Road will be gravel re-sheeted and brought up to seal level with gutters extended with headwalls.

Total cost of proposed project is $159,361

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
