Project description

Henry Lawson Drive crosses Pipeclay creek using a single lane 3 span concrete composite bridge which operates on a give way system. The narrow single lane bridge has raised safety concerns with several near misses being recorded at the site.

It is proposed that the existing bridge is widened to accommodate 2 lanes of traffic with sufficient shoulders to facilitate cyclists. The works will commence in July with the preparation of the geotechnical investigation, environmental assessment and survey. The project will be put out for design and construct tender with design planned to commence late 2016 and construction in 2017. The approaches will be constructed to suit the new bridge.

Total cost of proposed project is $1,092,871
