Project description

Caroona Road is experiencing significant pavement shape failure, rough driving surfaces and the small width of the road (6 metres) has been causing some B-Double trucks and heavy Defence vehicles to run partly off road damaging the existing sealed pavement.

The work proposed includes road widening from 5.9 metres to 8 metres, asphalt overlay to a maximum depth of 50 millimetres and widening the shoulder to 2 metres. The new thickness of the pavement will be 200 millimetres on the roadway and 100 millimetres on the shoulder.

Total cost of proposed project is $1,830,000
