Project combined with Badgally Road - Local Roads Package 097362-18NSW-ARF

Upgrade of Badgally Road between Eagle Vale Drive and North Steyne Road, including:

widening from 2 lanes to 4 lanes
installation of kerb and guttering
installation of directional signage
central concrete medians
provision of indented bus bay
off-road shared pathway
new traffic control signals at the intersection of Badgally Road with Clydesdale Drive and Badgally Road with North Steyne Road
roundabout at Glenroy Road (formally Dobell Road) intersection

Benefits

The project is expected to:

improve links to the Campbelltown CBD and major transport routes
support the local road network for future growth

Funding

Australian Government funding is $2 million.

Timetable

Construction commenced in late 2019 and was completed in March 2021.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
