Project description
This project is to improve road safety and traffic flow along the Mulgoa Road between Blaikie Road and Jeanette Street.
The proposal is part of a broader strategy to upgrade the Mulgoa Road / Castlereagh Road Corridor in the Penrith region, which is the main north/south link between Penrith CBD and the M4 Motorway.
Benefits
The project will address specific traffic congestion issues, support residential and employment growth, improve road safety and improve freight productivity.
Funding
The Australian Government has committed $171.2 million towards the $226.3 million Mulgoa Road Upgrade, in partnership with the NSW Government.
Timetable
Major construction commenced in April 2023 with completion expected in early 2026.
