Project description

The Richmond Roads package included:

  • Sealing Bartletts Road in Tumbulgum. An existing 1km long unsealed section of Bartletts Road was upgraded and sealed to a rural ‘Class B’ formation width (6m seal). Existing pipe culverts were replaced where warranted by their condition
  • Reinforcing Belongil Creek Bridge in Byron Bay. The project repaired 15 deteriorated piles involving removal of concrete, replacement of reinforcement steel, concrete repairs, installation of a corrosion protection system and a silane impregnation treatment. The project also involved remediation of the traffic barrier handrail and remediation of various items on the bridge deck
  • Flood immunity works at Mount Warning. This involved the replacement of an existing low level, single lane culvert that was prone to blockage and flooding with a two lane culvert with increased drainage capacity and an increased level of flood immunity
  • Reconstruction of sections of three roads in Ballina - Links Avenue, River Drive, and Tamar Street. The reconstruction works included the excavation and removal of failed pavement and unsuitable subgrade, replacement with suitable subgrade fill and pavement, and replacement of linemarking and signs. Links Avenue was paved with an asphalt wearing surface. River Drive and Tamar Street were given a two coat bitumen seal
