Project description

The project constructed approximately 2.65km of new road, as well as construction of a new bridge crossing the Brid River and an upgrade to the existing Sandy Points Road.

Benefits

The benefits of this project will be improved safety, increased capacity for heavy vehicles and reduced travel time.

Funding

The cost of the project is $4.8 million. The Australian Government contributed $1.9 million, the Tasmanian Government $1.0 million and the Dorset Council $1.9 million.

Timetable

Construction commenced in January 2018 and was completed in November 2019.
