Project description

The project replaced the existing Carlton River timber bridge with a new two lane concrete bridge on Sugarloaf Road.

Benefits

The project has improved safety, increased load capacity for the new bridge, improved freight efficiency and reduced maintenance costs.

Funding

The estimated cost of the project was $2,320,468 million. The Australian Government contributed $1.2 million and the Sorell Council $1.2 million.

Timetable

Construction commenced on 2 February 2017 and was completed on 19 July 2017.
