Project description

The project has sealed approximately 20.6 km of Highland Lakes Road from Miena to Haulage Hill, north of Breona.  The project has also realigned and widened three curves on Haulage Hill.

Benefits

The benefits of this project will be improved safety, improved access for road users and reduced travel time.

Funding

The cost of the project was $13.08 million. The Australian Government contributed $5 million and the Tasmanian Government the remaining funding.

Timetable

Construction commenced in January 2017 and was completed in April 2019.
