Project description

This road is a very highly trafficked urban road that provides alternate commuter and freight access between Queanbeyan and Canberra. The pavement is cracked, becoming uneven and is in the early stages of failure. It is vulnerable to water ingress and the recent bout of wet weather has accelerated these failure modes.

It is proposed to lime stabilise the existing pavement over the site's full 723 metre length and 13 metre width. The finished product will then be sealed with a new temporary spray sealed surface. A final asphaltic concrete surface, complete with new linemarking and associated traffic facilities, will be applied at a later date once the stabilised pavement has sufficiently cured.
