Project description

Rejuvenation required ie. the existing pavement is cracked and ageing and nearing the end of its useful life and a new seal needs to be applied to protect and rejuvenate the current seal to preserve the asset.

Crack sealing then 10/7mm polymer modified bitumen reseal for straight line chainage 0 to 350 metres and from straight line chainage 500 metres to straight line chainage 3150 metres plus 150 metres of micro surfacing from straight line chainage 350 metres to straight line chainage 500 metres.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
