Project description

The project constructed a new road bridge crossing over the Campaspe River and Murray River at Echuca-Moama and connected the Murray Valley Highway at Echuca in Victoria with the Cobb Highway at Moama in NSW. The project was constructed in four stages:

Stage 1 - Construction of a new roundabout at the Murray Valley Highway and Warren Street intersection

Stage 2 - Upgrade of Warren Street in Echuca

Stage 3 - Construction of new bridges over the Campaspe and Murray Rivers, and additional flood relief structures

Stage 4 - Construction of a new four-lane carriageway

Benefits

The project has delivered the following benefits:

Funding

The total cost of the project was $323.7 million. The Australian Government contributed $125.7 million, the Victorian Government $111.0 million and the New South Wales Government $87.0 million.

Timetable

Construction commenced in October 2017 and was completed in April 2022.
