Project description

The project will upgrade selected locations of the Hamilton Highway between Geelong (from Friend in Hand Road) and Cressy in south-west Victoria, and undertake an upgrade to the Hamilton Highway and Burnside Road intersection.  Works will also include safety measures such as delineation, signage and line-marking.

Benefits

The project is expected to improve travel times, ride quality and comfort for motorists, and reduce the number and severity of crash incidents.

Funding

The estimated cost of the project is $10 million, with the Australian and Victorian governments each contributing $5 million.

Timetable

Construction commenced in October 2017 and was completed in May 2019.
