Project description
This segment of roadway has been burdened by significant sub soil water problems over the years. The driving surface is cracked and fine roadbase material appears on the surface of the roadway even in dry weather. The road is a heavily trafficed section of the town and runs parallel to a popular beach area.Engage geotechnical consultancy to review existing pavement and prepare design for renewal. Pavement Design: Zone 1 (roundabout to divided carriageway: 65m) - Mill 175mm down, replace with 125mm AC20 and 50mm AC14. Zone 2 (divided carriageway: 210m) - Mill 160mm down, stabilise pavement, place 110mm AC20 then 50mm AC14.
