Project description

Many components of the bridge deck are in poor condition, including the concrete decking itself and the bridge's wing walls are also in poor condition.

The deck, guard rails and wing walls will be replaced. Work will be conducted by Main Roads WA on behalf of the City of Swan. This project is being funded from multiple sources as well as R2R and City of Swan funds, they are; 1) Main Roads WA - $430,000, 2) City of Swan $360,000, 3) WA Grants Commission $460,000 as well as the unchanged amount of $800,000 from R2R. The funding and total project costs shown are the best information I have as at January 19 2018.

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
