Project description

Pavement surface has been deteriorated displaying crocodile cracks in many places and also ravelling of the surface. The existing shoulder lanes are unsealed and also there is no existing kerb and gutter. The road pavement requires reconstruction and also new kerb and gutter to be installed.

Construction of kerb and gutter on both sides of the pavement, construction of shoulder lanes with 300mm DGB20 and 40mm AC10 and repair and resurface the central lanes with 40mm AC10.

Total cost of proposed project is $312,970

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
