Project description

Construction of a four lane bypass to the east of the town of Tiaro which provides improved flood immunity at flood prone areas and reduces the heavy vehicle traffic from the Tiaro township, improving safety and congestion for residents.

Benefits

The benefits include improved flood immunity, increasing safety for people living in Tiaro as well as road users, capacity increases and reductions in peak hour congestion.

Funding

The Australian Government has committed $268.8 million towards the project in partnership with the Queensland Government.

Timetable

The delivery timeframes of this Project will be determined in consultation with the Queensland Government, after the completion of the detailed design.
