Project description

The project constructed a new rail bridge over the Avon River, south of Stratford, and decommissioned the existing bridge.

Benefits

The project replaced the existing bridge which was at end of life, resulting in the removal of temporary speed restrictions over the Avon River Bridge.

Funding

The Australian Government contributed $69.45 million to the project and the Victorian Government contributed $7.55 million.

Timetable

The project's construction commenced in November 2019 and was completed in December 2020.
