Project description

The project has upgraded Leach Highway (High Street) from Carrington Street to Stirling Highway from a four-lane undivided road to a four-lane carriageway on an improved alignment.  The upgrade has included the reconfiguration of the intersection with Stirling Highway.

Benefits

The improved design will reduce crash risk at the intersection of Leach Highway (High Street) and Stirling Highway, and will provide more reliable access to Fremantle Inner Harbour.

Funding

The Australian Government committed $47.4 million to the project.  The Western Australian Government has contributed $28.6 million.

Timetable

Construction was completed in Feb 2022.
