Project description

The road has very little rubble on it and there are areas where the sand is what you drive on, this road carries heavy large vehicles for farming and is causing damage to those vehicles, there are also families who drive on this road with their school aged children and the road is dangerous

It is proposed to cart rubble onto this section of the road and Grade, and compact to make the road a safe road also ensure that the road is able to drain water off the surface

Total cost of proposed project is $239,420

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
