Project description

Luke Court is an Urban Access Road Court where the existing pattern paved concrete road 60 metres long and 3.5 metres wide with an existing three point turn around is not capable of accommodating a garbage truck and the road shoulders have deteriorated causing access and maintenance problems.

The existing concrete pavement is to be removed and replaced with a 300 mm deep pavement widened to 6 metres width with new kerb and channel both sides and an 18 metres diameter turn around area at the end with a 40mm deep asphalt surface.

Total cost of proposed project is $121,000

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
