Project description

Inkerman Street is an Urban Link road where the existing sealed road pavement, which is 233 metres long by 11.7 metres wide between kerbs, with an 11.7 metre wide seal has failed. The road surface is rutted and heaved and has deteriorated along with the shoulders of the road.

The existing pavement base is to be stabilised to 200mm deep between the existing kerbs and surfaced with a 40mm deep heavy duty asphalt road surface to provide a level safe surface in the urban environment.

Total cost of proposed project is $151,000

The Gardens Road (Alice Springs Rural Road) - 059887-15NT-RTR

The Gardens Road services the pastoral, tourism, mining and indigenous community industries. The nearby Alice Springs to Darwin road rail crossing is currently being upgraded to 2 lane 7m wide seal, finishing at the existing narrow non-standard, single lane grid. The upgrade of the grid and drainage is a safety issue.It is proposed to raise the grid to allow drainage to occur, widen the grid to standard 9.6 metre width, raise the road approaches and build fence on both sides of the grid for traffic safety.
