Project description

Railway Street is an Urban Collector road, seal width 11 metres which intersects with Gillies Street an Urban Link road, seal width 8 metres, at an acute angle. The layout of the intersection and the vertical geometry has poor sight distance and is a traffic hazard for residential traffic entering Gillies Street from Railway Street.

The end of Railway Street is to be closed to create an 18 metre diameter turn around area allowing no traffic to or from Gillies Street to make the intersection safe. 150 metres of kerb and channel and 3 metre width of sealed road shoulder will be constructed in Gillies Street and 70 metres of kerb and channel and 300 square metres of asphalted pavement will be constructed in Railway Street.

Total cost of proposed project is $230,000
