Project description

Flexible road pavement is in poor condition and has failed for approximately 60% of the roads length; it has extensive cracking rutting and heaving failures and asphalt re-sheet is required. The road currently has no kerb and channel along its length and it lacks adequate drainage, therefore works include construction of drainage including swale drains to incorporate Water Sensitive Urban Design.

Works are the reconstruction of 1200 metres of Old Wells Road from Eel Race Drain to 100m North of Erika Crescent which includes pipe drainage and associated pits, asphalt resheeting of road pavement, construction of 2 roundabouts, replacement of footpaths and shared paths and reinstatement of nature strips. The works consist of approximately: • 5100m² of excavation of streetscape to boxing levels • 7500m² of 30mm depth asphalt wearing course • 2500m² of 40mm depth asphalt wearing course • 1400m² of 95mm depth asphalt and crushed rock base courses • 2300m of concrete kerb & channel • 1400 m² of 150mm depth concrete shared footpath • 240 m² of various concrete works • 310m of 300mm dia concrete drainage pipe • 300m of 375mm dia concrete drainage pipe • Drainage pits • Associated works

Total cost of proposed project is $1,182,086
