Project description

Flexible road pavement is in poor condition and has failed for approximately 60% of the roads length; it has extensive cracking rutting and heaving failures and asphalt re-sheet is required. The works also include the construction of a shared user path (SUP) along the length of this road as well as drainage upgrade works. There will also be some traffic treatments such as kerb outstands to provide indented parking.

Works involve the reconstruction of 650 metres of Governor Road from Percy Street to Boundary Road which includes pipe drainage and associated pits, asphalt resheeting of road pavement, replacement of footpaths and reinstatement of nature strips. The works consist of approximately: • 5000m² of excavation of streetscape to boxing levels • 6900m² of 50mm depth asphalt wearing course • 500m² of 75mm depth asphalt and crushed rock base courses • 1140m of concrete kerb & channel type BK1 pipe • 165 m² of 150mm depth concrete vehicle crossings • 1550 m² of 125mm depth concrete footpath • 30m of 300mm dia concrete drainage pipe • Drainage pits • Associated works

Total cost of proposed project is $1,150,000
