Project description

Garden Street was originally constructed in 1938 and had its last surfacing treatment (a spray seal) in 1999. The road has unusual crossfall which makes access to adjoining properties difficult. The road is in poor condition evidenced by crocodile cracking and stripping of the spray seal surface. Drainage along the length of the road requires upgrade as a result of the unusual crossfall which gives the road a high side and a low side (left-right), in addition road has very little fall along its length.

It is proposed to undertake a reconstruction of the road to realign the kerb and channel, replace the road surface and install additional underground drainage. These works will improve access to adjoining properties, reduce flooding from stormwater and meet Council's asset management objectives for road assets.

Total cost of proposed project is $213,171
