Project description

Marindja Road is a main cattle transport route for the cattlemen exporting from Twin Hill and Labelles Station. The road is also heavily used for those who live out at Channel Point and the Bogul Community. Previous years this section of road has been washed away and access became extremely unsafe and difficult to a point where access is cut off. The section is below natural surface level, out of shape and is impassable during the wet season. These sections restrict delivery of fuel, stores to pastoral proprieties and prevent the movement of cattle when market conditions are most appropriate. These works will mitigate the issues and prevent future washouts to the extent that it has experienced.

Construct new 60 m x 8 m sealed floodway at Chainage 33.64 kilometres.
