Project description

This package of works provided overtaking lanes on the Augusta, Eyre and Lincoln Highways, shoulder sealing on the Sturt Highway, the widening of the Rocky River Bridge on the Augusta Highway and the upgrade of traffic signals at the Riddoch Highway (Penola Road)/Wireless Road intersection in Mount Gambier.

Improved the efficiency and safety of transport operations along these highways.

Funding

The Australian Government committed $11 million towards the $13.75 million project with the South Australian Government providing $2.7 million and council contributions of $50,000.

Timetable

Construction commenced January 2016 and was completed in July 2019.
